DAN IS 28!

I can't believe he's 28!!! We are getting so old!

Happy Birthday DAN!!

We went out to Dan's favorite restaurants Black Angus to celebrate! We were hoping that Jade would sleep the whole time but she was wide awake and didn't want to miss the party. She is always a little angle when we are out in public. I think she just loves to look around and see everything new. The other night we went with Dan to a dinner with his boss and everyone he works with. I was so nervous because we were the only ones that brought a child. We were there for around three hours and she was perfect. She just sat in her carseat most of the time and looked around. After we left, she broke down and screamed the whole way home. That's what always seems to happen but we are lucky that she's great in public.

She really is such a good girl. She has been sleeping GREAT!!! 3 two hour naps and then she sleeps 10-11 hours straight at night. She loves her paci and her blankie. With both she will sleep good. It scars me because she loves to sleep with it covering her face. So i go in everytime and fix it. We have a video baby monitor which I totally remcommend. I always know if she's actually sleeping or I can tell when the blanket is covering her face too much. I just took this picture of her sleeping on the monitor

claire and jade's baby blessing

These are cute pics that my aunt Annette took of the babies after the blessing!

John(Dan's sister Nen's baby) and Jade only 2 weeks apart!
Jade and Claire (6 weeks apart)

Jade is soo lucky to have cousins so close in age to her. They are all going to be
BEST FRIENDS!

Last Sunday was Jade and Claire's baby blessing in Utah. It was such a great day! Thanks to all my friends and family that came. I just realized that I didn't get any good up close pictures of Jade in her dress. I guess we will have to put it on again and take some. I loved her dress it's cream and pink! We had so much fun visiting family and meeting claire for the first time. And as you can see I chopped my hair. I swore that I wouldn't do it when I became a mom but I gave in. It was getting soo thin and Jade was always pulling it out and getting spit up in it. My family all talked me into doing it.

haha Sheridan!!

Dan's Family owns a condo in Park City and let my fam stay there for a few nights. We had lots of fun. We went on the alpine slides and the zip line. Then we all headed off to Sacramento. Both babies were great on the 10 hour drive.6 hours into the drive and claire is still smiling!
We took the kids to the zoo and to Fairytale town!!! I loved that place when I was little. I still loved to run the crooked mile!!

Enjoying the zoo!
We are glad to be home but miss the fam already!

4th of July and Utah

We just got back from Utah and had such a great time!! We were able to meet a lot of new family members. Josh our new brother in law, and max and john our new nephews. We were super busy with the wedding, the 4th, and John's baby blessing. I was also able to spend some time with my fam too! We were hoping that Nichole would have her baby while we were there and we tried everything. Jade went to her first movie and did great and slept the whole time on both plane rides. She was great the whole trip except she had a hard time breastfeeding.I think it was too loud and crazy. She is used to just us all day not going out and in Utah we were always on the go. She has been just fine now that we are back at home. She has been sleeping GREAT ever since I tried the sleep positioner which I highly recommend. One night I let her sleep in her car seat and she slept 6 hours. I think being propped up a bit helped her but I didn't want to get her in the habit of only sleeping in it. So I borrowed Carrie's sleep positioner and she slept 6.5 and then 4.5 hours and I bought the same one that next day. I can totally tell the difference and think everyone whose baby is only sleeping 3-4 hours should get one! I included a pic of her sleeping on it.

Jade is now 6 weeks and I can't believe it. Nichole had her baby yesterday and just looking at the pics make me realize how much Jade has grown. Sorry to everyone in Utah that we weren't able to see but we will be there in 3 weeks for her blessing and will have lots more time.

First play date and 1 month

One month old pic

Jade is now one month old! I can't believe how fast that went. We already miss how small she was. She is growing too fast and is starting to put on some weight. Her double chin is getting bigger. She is starting to loose her hair right on the top of her head. If it gets worse she is going to look like a monk. haha but I don't think it will get that bad. I keep telling her to hold on to it for just one more week because she has lots of family and friends that she is going to meet next week in Utah. That's right we will be in Utah next weekend for Dan's little sister Lisa's wedding. We are excited that everyone can meet baby Jade. She still smiles all the time and she loves to lay on her play mat. She doesn't love the swing but I'm trying to get her to like it. Last night she slept 6.5 hours without waking. She has her good nights and has the bad ones too.

Jade's friend Macy was born 6 days after her and they got together this week to have a play date. They both just slept the whole time right next to each other. It was so cute. It's amazing how all little babies seem to make similar faces and little noises. They are going to be great friends.

Well everyone in Utah we look forward to seeing you next weekend!!

She sleeps with her mouth wide open just like daddy!

BABY JADE IS HERE!!

May 28 4:10 am

6 lbs 13 oz

18.5 inches long

The labor went pretty great. I was doing a slow induction with cirvidil which is a 12 hour dose that softens the cervix. So the plan was to get the meds on and sleep through the night and get another dose and then start pitocin the next day. Well it went much quicker. The cirvidil was put on at 2pm and I was still on 1cm 60% and by 8 I was getting contractions that hurt but it was still manageable. By 10 pm we wanted to try to sleep. It wasn't bad enough to get an epidural so the nurse put meds in my IV that made me tired. 2 hours later I woke up in major pain. She checked me and I was only 2cm 80%. I got the epidural and rested some more. Two hours later of kinda sleep I started feeling pain again. I kept thinking that it was weird that the epidural was already wearing off. So I paged the nurse and she came in to check me. She said,"well your a 10 and the baby's head is right here!!" We were shocked. I went from a 2 to a 10 in 2 hour. I made Dan call my mom and tell her to hurry. My water still hadn't broke yet so when the nurse had me start practice pushes she could see the head coming out in the water bag. She is not allowed to break it but she kept trying all her tricks to get it to break but none worked. The doc and my mom showed up and she broke my water and out came baby Jade 2 pushes later. the only thing that was keeping her in was the water bag. Overall I wouldn't say it was super easy but I know I was lucky with such an easy labor.

Jade is 1 week old today! She is doing great. The first couple of days were rough until my milk came in. She would be starving all night long and all she would want to do was eat but I don't think I had enough for her. One morning after all night of screaming and eating we gave her a bottle of formula and she was a happy little girl. We felt so bad cause it was like we were starving her. But now it's much better. I still have to wake her up to eat every 2 hours until she goes back to her birth weight. When we left the hospital she weighed 6lbs 3 oz. We had to make lots of trips to the doctors and the lab to test her bilirubin levels. We were only one level away from checking back into the hospital. I'm so happy that it has started going down.

She loves to have her little legs crossed at the ankles. I remember on a couple of the ultrasounds she had her legs like that also. She is ALWAYS cooing and making noises. All night she sings to herself. It's super cute but at the same time I always think that she is awake and check and nope she's still asleep just humming to herself. She requires at least 2 diapers per changing time. I'm not kidding. Every time she goes I wait a long time just to make sure she's finished and I change her a sure enough 1 min later she goes again. I'm getting better at catching her pee in the old diaper before I put on the new one because she does that every time too. She always gets the hiccups right when she's all wrapped up half asleep in the middle of the night and it wakes her right back up. Her favorite time of the day is when daddy comes home and then she hangs out with him the rest of the night. Dan begs me to pump a bottle so that he can get up with her at least once in the night. One thing that nobody told me was that breastfeeding literally is your life. I feel like it's all that I do. But I'm loving every minute of everything. We are the happiest we have ever been and we love her soo much!

this video is kinda lame but it's the shortest one we have

Jade's room & 38 week update!

So we are almost finished with the Jade's room which is good because I just found out that I will be induced Wed the 27th which is my sister Chandler's birthday. They will start me with 12 hours of cirvidil, so I probably won't end up having her until Thursday. I'm SOOOOO excited a week still seems too long to wait. My doctor suggested that Dan and I go to a restaurant with no highchairs allowed and go see a couple of movies before the big day. I was 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced and her head was in -2 station. The doc thinks it will be a pretty easy labor so I'm hoping that she's right. I'm not too uncomfortable yet just anxious to meet her. Here are some pics of her room. I still need to get a bumper and we need to hang some more stuff on the wall but this is what it pretty much will look like. I also put in a pic of her cute cradle that she will be sleeping in for the first while. Thanks to Ellen for the crib, and lots of the stuff in the room!!!
