So if you haven't already heard I had my 16 week ultrasound on Tuesday and the doc said it's 80% chance a GIRL  of course I'm super excited.  It's kinda annoying that it's only 80%. Her little legs were in the way a lot of the time and that's why she wasn't 100% sure. I have to go in for a big 3D one in the next couple of weeks and then they will verify.  I'm still not really showing yet but I know it will be soon.  Dan was really excited too! He recently was getting his hopes up for a boy because his brother just had a boy and his sister just found out that she is going to have a boy so he wanted it to be the three stooges.  But he got over that fast. He did the cutest thing ever! When he came home the night we found out he had a huge bouquet of pink flowers!! He told me that he was sorry that they weren't for me but they were for baby Jade.  I already know she's going to be a daddy's girl!

Changes: New job, new apartment, new baby!

In the last couple of months lots has changed in the Peterson home. Dan accepted and has started his new job at UCLA hospital. (The 3rd highest ranked hospital in the US!) He loves it so far. It's so much different from the VA. He says now he feels like he is running an actual business. He manages a couple of different departments within the hospital. The clinical Neurophysiology and Pulmonary departments. In the first week he was already training a seminar on customer service.
To go along with the new job we decided to upgrade our apartment. We have an extra room and more importantly a dishwasher!! It still makes me sick to think that in Utah or pretty much anywhere else we could own a brand new nice spacious house with what we pay in rent. Oh well, but we are like 4 blocks closer to the beach than our old place. The new place has worked out great except for the cockroach and the apartment down the hall got robbed the other day. It was important for us to find a place that is in our current ward. We love our ward. Dan just got called to be the Young Mens President. He will be great the boys all already love him.
The biggest news of all....THE NEW BABY!!!! Everyone pretty much knows but it's exciting to be able to announce it officially. (which Dan did in his talk today. I didn't even know that he was going to do it!) We are so excited and we already have been lucky enough to have 4 ultrasounds to see our cute large lime. (that's what size fruit it is this week) I'm a little over 3 months and decided to take my first tummy pictures. Even though you probably can't see anything I am noticing little by little it is getting larger. I'm so excited to be going through this at the same time at Nichole and Dan's sister Nen. My friend at church is only a week behind me too.
Things have been going soo well and we are very grateful! We can't wait to see everyone in Utah next week!

You can see in the lower pic that our apartment is a mess!! I will post pictures later of the new place when we get everything all settled in.

IT'S FALL

Dan had a day off for Columbus Day so we went up to Sac for the 3 day weekend. It was soo cold and windy!! Living in LA made us forget that it was October. We went to this huge pumpkin patch and had lots of fun. Sometime on the drive our camera got smashed so we now cant tell what the picture is going to look like..we just have to guess. (just like yours Nichole) oh well the pictures turned out fine and we'll just have to get a new one during the after Thanksgiving sales. It was fun to be able to hang out with Stevie, Sherd, and Chandler. (we missed you Jordan!) Even though it was such a short time we always find a way to have so much fun. I'm so excited to see the whole fam for Thanksgiving!!

Well I'm at work and Ella is asleep and I should be studying but I decided that I need to post something even though I have no pictures because I'm not on my computer. Dan has finally received a job offer at the VA. And he had 3 job interviews at the UCLA hospital last week. All of the jobs look really good. I want him to get out of the VA while he can I'm scared he will get sucked in forever. It's weird cause I would think that I would be sad that we haven't found good jobs in Utah or Sacramento but I'm actually really liking it here in LA. It would be nice to be able to buy a nice house and be close to family and friends but we really growing to love all of the traffic. j/k that's the one thing I could stand to live without. We are planning to go to Utah soon and I'm excited to see all the new babies that have been born! Well for now we are waiting for other job offers to come. The one that Dan is most interested in is the Chief Administrative officer for the radiology and oncology department. He said that he dominated the interview and they are looking for someone just like him. He is such a different person when it comes to his work. He is such a hard worker and I'm excited for him to be getting all these offers. He deserves it!!!

So I'm pretty much the worst blogger EVER!! It's been awhile so I have lots of pictures. We have been really busy for the last couple of weeks. We went home for the 4th and had tons of fun with the fam. We went to the parade and watched the fireworks. We went to John's Incredible Pizza!!! We had so much fun and we won tons of tickets with the Deal or no Deal game. My sister Sheridan came home with us and she has been here for over a week and my other sister Chandler flew in and we are all having a blast. Next week we meet the rest of the fam in Atascadero. The last couple of weeks have been pretty crazy!! I was able to go to a taping of Dancing with the Stars to help watch my cousin Ashly's baby backstage. It was pretty cool to be able to see all the stars. It was the 100th episode so all of the past stars that have been on the show were back. I ran into Syesha from American Idol in the bathroom. It was right before she went on stage to preform. I hung out with Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris(the hosts) in their dressing rooms and even was up close to Randy Jackson. They taped American Idol the same night so thats how I saw all of them. Then after the show at the Grove I ran into Kelly Kapoor from the Office!
The next night we were able to go to a Lakers vs Jazz playoff game 8th row with our friends Matt and Carrie!! Denzel Washington was right in front of us along with Jack Black and Kelly Slater. We even got free T-shirts when we got to the game and I ended up selling mine for $20 bucks!! So we made money by going to the game.
Then last weekend we went with Carrie and Matt to their beach house in Laguna Beach! It was our first time in Laguna Beach and we had so much fun. They had a private beach and we had fun just walking around all the cool shops and eating yummy food.
As you can see we are having a ton of fun here in LA!! So come and visit us!!

Little Princess

Dan and I were able to go home for the weekend for Stevie's 6th birthday!! I took her to a little kids beauty boutique where she got her hair, nails, and makeup done. She loved it and looked soo cute! We had so much fun. The highlight of the trip was the obstacle course tournament!! The race started out with a bike ride around the block. Next you had to do certain things while riding Stevie's little scooter. (going under a ladder on the scooter, hitting a football into a marked area) Then for the hardest part, going up the stairs legs first on your stomach! At the top of the stairs my mom would to a charade and you had to guess it before you could continue. Then down the stairs arms first where you had to catch a piece of popcorn in your mouth thrown from above. Next on to the boggle game where you had to find three words. Then eat 5 saltine crackers with no hands. This is hard and what made it even worse was that you were so out of breath and your mouth was already dry by this point. I smoked everyone at this part! Next balance on a yoga ball for 30 sec, sink 3 balls on the pool table, and then to finish it off jump on a mat in the pool and paddle to the other side! It was a lot of fun and the whole neighborhood started to join in on the action. What a fun weekend!

For the past week I was able to babysit Stevie!! She flew out to LA all by herself and it was her first time on a plane! She was such a big girl. We had lots of fun together. She came to work with me which she loved.. one day I got off earlier than I expected and she was so sad because she wanted to stay all the way until dinner time. Ella loved to see Stevie and we all had fun going on nature walks together. Stevie loved going to the beach where she collected lots of sheshells. (that's what she calls them) She could collect them all day if I'd let her. One day we had just gotten home from work and I was on the computer and I heard her drinking something. I turned around to see her slurping up the last drops of her cereal from that morning that had been sitting out all day!!! She said it didn't taste sour but like cinnamon because it was cinnamon toast crunch cereal. I about died!!! Luckily she didn't get sick. We were so lucky to have had her here and it wasn't too sad when she left because we get to see her in one week when we go home for her birthday!!

Arachnophobia

So my first post! I set up this blog a long time ago and I was waiting for something exciting to write about...and my events of tonight I had to share. So Dan is out of town in Chicago for a big convention for all health care administrators. The evening started off great! The family that I work for took me to sushi for dinner and it was very good. They got 10 rolls, soup, appetizers and dessert and there was only the three of us! I always forget how much I love sushi because I don't go too often because Dan hates it. When I got home I was excited to watch shows that I had recorded from our new TeVo! ( we have been talking about getting it for 4 years now) I realized that I really had to pee so I jump up and run to the bathroom... as I'm running at full speed I skid to a stop and SCREAM!!! There hanging right above the toilet was the biggest spider I have ever seen!!!! I turned around and ran out. Nichole called at the very moment and I'm sure when I answered I sounded like someone had just died. It was good to talk to her cause she is more scared of spiders then me and had the idea of sucking it up with the vacuum. I decided that wouldn't be the best idea because the attachment on the vacuum was pretty small on the end and I was scared that the spider would not fit and that it would just be stuck there with its legs all wiggling around. I decided with the help of Dan over the phone to spray it with cleaner and be prepared to step on it. That's what I did and let me tell you it was pretty scary. I have been sky diving and my heart was pounding harder tonight. I really think it was a black widow and that's why I was extra scared. Anyway, I sprayed it and it fell to the ground and after stepping on it three times it finally gave up. Dan was so proud that I had won! So I took a picture of the curled up nightmare. It looks a lot smaller on the picture. I should have put a quarter next to it because it's about that big. Hopefully I won't have nightmares tonight!
